CR20 Replacement Branson Welding Converter for 2000X Models Plastic Welder
Description:
The converter is aptly named because it receives electrical energy from the power supply and converts it into mechanical vibrations. Replacement converter for Branson model CR-20 using the military-style connector, for use with 20KHz 2000, 2000X and DCX series power supplies.
Piezoelectric ceramic ultrasonic transducer is an electro-mechanical-acoustic transducer, which refers to the mutual conversion of energy between electrical signals and acoustic signals through the characteristics of materials. Piezoelectric ceramics are polycrystalline materials that can be applied to many fields by artificial firing. The external elastic deformation and the internal electrical leveling of the material are mutually converted by an external electric field and externally applied pressure, which is called an electrostrictive effect. The sintered ferroelectrics are subjected to polarization treatment of an electric field, so that the disordered internal polarization phenomenon becomes regular and ordered, and piezoelectric characteristics are generated.

Ultrasonic welding machine equipment overview:
The ultrasonic welding machine is designed to operate in the frequency range of 10-75 kHz, each with its own advantages and disadvantages. Lower frequencies can deliver higher power, but higher operating frequencies produce less damage and produce less audible noise. For these reasons, most industrial equipment operate at 20-40 kHz. Table 8.3 lists the general power capabilities of most industrial equipment at various frequencies and the main advantages and disadvantages of operating at that frequency.
Because all industrial equipment is designed to resonate at a specific frequency, it cannot change the operating frequency of the equipment, especially the components (converters, transformers and welding heads) and the operating frequency of the power supply. However, the transmission can be adjusted to have a relatively high power (2000W/converter) at different frequencies. It should also be noted that since the vibration produces subharmonics inside the component, even if the machine is operated at a higher frequency than the human ear (about 18 kHz), noise is still generated. The higher the frequency, the smaller the effect.
Most ultrasonic welding equipment follows one of two design concepts: 1 modular system, 2 integrated systems.
In the modular system, the control unit and power supply are separated from the transmission. Modular systems are often used when high levels of control are required and when initial equipment manufacturers require packaging. Integrated systems are less expensive, but have less control.
